Nutrition

🍁 Nutrition

Nutrition is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism.

It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism, and excretion. Nutrition is how food affects the health of the body.

Food is essential which provides vital nutrients for survival, and helps the body function and stay healthy.

🏵 Importance of Nutrition :

Eating a balanced diet is vital for good health and wellbeing. Food provides our bodies with the energy, protein, essential fats, vitamins and minerals to live, grow and function properly.

We need a wide variety of different foods to provide the right amounts of nutrients for good health.

Nutrition is important for everyone. Healthy eating means eating a variety of foods that give you the nutrients you need to maintain your health, feel good, and have energy.

🏵 The Symptoms of Lack of Nutrition :

📍 Unexplained Fatigue :

Fatigue is a common side effect of iron deficiency, which can lead to anemia, indicated by low levels of red blood cells

📍 Brittle and Dry Hair :

Hair, which is made up mostly of protein, serves as a useful diagnostic marker for nutritional deficiencies

📍 Ridged or Spoon-Shaped Nails

📍 Mouth Problems

🏵 There are Seven Different Nutrients:

🔸 Carbohydrates
🔸 Proteins
🔸 Fats
🔸 Minerals
🔸 Vitamins
🔸 Fibre
🔸 Water

🏵 Macronutrient :

Macronutrients, which are protein, fat and carbohydrates, provide energy, but also have other roles. You need large amounts of these nutrients on a daily basis.

🏵 Micronutrients :

Micronutrients, required in smaller amounts, are vitamins and minerals that are essential components of biological processes occurring throughout your body.

🏵 Sources of Nutrition :

Eating a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, dairy products, lean protein and nuts can help meet your daily needs for these nutrients.

Bad nutrition from not eating a variety of whole foods may lead to deficiencies of micronutrients, such as iron, vitamin A, folate and zinc.

🏵 Water :

Water is the most important nutrient. Nutritionists spend a lot of time discussing total digestible nutrients, minerals, crude protein and even various fractions of protein.

However, we often take for granted the most important nutrient, the one required in the greatest amount by any class of livestock water.

Protein, complex carbohydrates, fiber and essential fats are among the nutrients that are generally considered to be good.

Sugars, other simple carbohydrates, and saturated fats are among the nutrients that are generally considered to be bad.

🏵 Get Enough Vitamins, Minerals and Fiber :

Eat more fiber, potassium, Vitamin D, calcium and iron to maintain good health and help reduce your risk of certain health problems such as osteoporosis and anemia. Choose more fruits and vegetables to get more of these nutrients.
